At last a reason to celebrate French law……..for all you would be iPhone owners. Under French law all mobile phones have to be offered unlocked, so that customers can use them on any network they wish – and that includes the iPhone.

Thanks for this important piece of information. While I think the iPhone looks very cool I am reisting the marketing assault and sticking to my sony. One question though. Apple say there will be softwear upgrades and if you are running say Vodaphone you will not get them. So presumably if you buy the phone in France you will need to keep a pay as you go french simcard to get the upgrades. What does any on think.
